Unlike waxing which can irritate sensitive skin or cause breakouts, threading only contacts hair, not skin. It's safe for people using retinoids, chemical exfoliants, or other sensitizing skincare products. Threading is also suitable for recently sunburned or windburned skin.
After threading, avoid touching the treated area for several hours to prevent introducing bacteria, skip makeup application for 2-4 hours, avoid hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms for 24 hours, don't apply retinoids or exfoliating products for 24 hours, avoid direct sun exposure for 24 hours, and don't schedule other facial treatments for 24-48 hours. Apply soothing aloe vera gel if needed for any redness or sensitivity.
