Tattoo Removal with the PicoWay – a high power laser with ultra short pulses that shatter tattoo ink, leaving the outer layer of the skin intact. PicoWay treats a wide range of tattoo colors across a broad range of skin types. Over a series of brief treatments, PicoWay can eliminate most tattoos.
The ultra-short pulses with PicoWay are important because they lead to a “photoacoustic” effect that avoids heating the skin – rather than a photothermal (or heat) approach that heats the skin and can lead to side effects, such as downtime and scarring.
Tiny open spaces are created under the skin that are then filled in over time with the growth of new collagen and elastin. PicoWay literally works from the inside out. The treatment does not cause the outer layers of the skin to break, so patients enjoy low to no downtime after treatment.
What is the Process?
Your certified Nirvana technician will apply a numbing agent to the area that is to be treated. Then, they will use the PicoWay Resolve to send short “blasts” to a very defined area, targeting ink under the first layer of skin. Because PicoWay does not work by heating the skin, the top layer is often undamaged during the process and patients have less down time. Patients may experience temporary discoloration or reddening around the treatment area, but this will pass.

What are the Results?
Dramatic visual results often occur with the first treatment, however all skin types and tattoos vary – some take up to 8 treatments to achieve optimum results.
